To the estranged lover…

You were not there when she needed somebody to hold her hand, when she was feeling lonely in the huge crowd gathered around her.

You were not there to fill the void in her life that keeps growing year after year as she scolds herself for not being able to feel happiness.

You were not there when she was pouring her heart out through words that still echo somewhere but the alphabets that made them are somehow lost into oblivion.

You were not there when she was fighting herself to stay strong even though the soul within her had fallen apart.

You were not there to tell her that everything will be okay one day as she was trying to be her own life hero.

You were not there to remind her that pretence can only be good upto a certain point and that it shouldn’t become a way of life.

No, you were not there when it was Holi and she wanted to paint your face with all the colours of love.

No, you were not there when the very next day she was desperately looking for you while holding her life’s first promotion letter close to her heart.
